Rm 5/6 Comparison

TOday we learnt to create a graph that tells a story and makes a comparison using math language 

Time Connectives

Jessie skipped past the shops. She usually skips straight past but instead she stopped and looked in. Soon she saw a sign that said pet rocks. The shop had lots of pet rocks. Jessie looked at all the pet rock. She chose one. She paid and skedaddle.Soon she noticed that she was late for class and so she ran to school. After when she got to school, She had realised that she left her bag in the shop. 

This is the time connectives my group and I did. My teacher gave us a piece of paper we had to read it and change it to a time and pake it all past tense

Padlet

This is a padlet me and my group made in reading. We were predicting what would happen in the book White Shoes.

Identity Survey

This is a survey we made with Miss Paton.  It is about learning about other people in my class. We are going to use that information to make graphs for the classroom.

Mihi

This is a mihi everybody in my class had to fill in we had to translate it into to english. I added a bit more in this I added siblings,teacher and the principal into this mihi.

Jhardae - 3d hand art

Step 1. Trace you hand with a pencil.(NOT A VIVID)
Step 2. Draw straight, even lines with vivid(you can do pencil first if you want) in the background. Not on the hand.
Step 3. Connect the lines with an arch over the space of the hand.  Do not do it too straight or too arched.
Step 4. When your finished it should look like this, but without the colour.
Step 5. Choose two colours, and colour it in switching the colours every line.
Step 6. Shade the colours correctly to create the 3D effect.

This art was a bit challenging trying to get the arches right and the lines evenly spaced. In the end I had fun doing this.

When I was young

Bang!  I was putting my head in and out of the window playing with my brother and I didn’t realise it was replaced with a nail .I pulled my head in the window and Boom! my eye was caught on the nail and there it comes dripping out of my eye with me crying and my mum crying rushing me to the hospital. My papa gets a call saying I just stabbed my eye on a nail  and im sitting and the hospital crying and my mum didn’t know what to do when I screamed. She was terrified and crying.

I was only four when this happened to me I always hurt myself when I was small. Me and my brother were playing Peek a Boo! in the window pulling our head in and out and my eye got caught on the nail.  We were bored and laughing at eachother. My mum was watching tv when this happened but she was right next to me. My mum grabbed a towel and took me to the bathroom and she didn’t know how to cover my eye because, it was dripping in blood by the time it stopped I had filled the whole towel up with blood it was horibble!.

We had a nail that replaced the latch on the window because my little brother broke it. I thought that nothing would happen to me because, my head was above the nail  and I put my head down to get in the window and AHHHH! I screamed and my mum ran to me opened the curtain and screamed. She didn’t know how to get me off the nail . I slid my eye off and the nail and the windosill was covered in blood. My mum had to call someone to come and pick us up because, we didn’t have a car at that time. I forgot who she called because it was so long ago. They came rushing over to my house and took me to the hospital.

In 2010 this happened because, 7 years ago this happened to me this was when I lived on Coral Cres  I was just around the corner from the school . I was four years old and as I grew up I became clumsy because, I had hurt myself all the time when I was young. My mum always said be careful your going to hurt yourself and I never listened.

In class we did a name art and with it we did our name in fractions on a piece of paper and stuck it to our name. This was a fun thing and it was also very challenging because we had to write our  name again but we had to mirror it.

Cricket World cup New Zealand vs Sri Lanka

This is a graph based on the Cricket world cup 2015. On Saturday New Zealand and Sri Lanka had a game. New Zealand won by 98 runs. New Zealand scored 331 points and Sri Lanka scored 233.

Buddy Reading

This is me and my partner Texas I chose him for buddy reading. He is 5 years old his favourite colour is blue his favourite food is noodles his favourite movie is Zombies wrestle skeletons and Plants vs Zombies. Next week or throughout the term we will be going up so they can read to us.

Jhardae_ Relating to others

It is important to relate to others the way you act could affect their work or hurt them. When you call someone dumb because they don't understand what you're saying that wont help them and you wont achieve anything.

Plagiarism

1. Dictionary def: In other words, plagiarism is an act of fraud. It involves both stealing someone else's work and lying about it afterward.

What does this mean to me?: Plagiarism to me would be taking someone elses work and making it your own.

Referencing: Plagiarism?

It is important to know that it's not good to plagiarize because you could get into big copy and they could probably sue you for copying their work.

PBS Care Values - Attitude

In Room 6 we did a Y chart based on Attitude. A positive attitude means finishing work on time or Striving to get an amazing education.

On the first day of school we created a whole lot of moons and every  one ruled 10cm eachside in a square. Once we did that we cut it out and with a compass we drew quarter of a circle and decorated it and put it together.

Today in class we made a y-chart on what confidence is what is feels like what it looks like and what it sounds like. I enjoyed this activity today.

Rm 6 2015

This year will be exciting for me because the Year 7 and 8's have camp in term two I really looking forward to it. I am a year 8 and will be leaving next year to college. I will really like showing the year 7's what I learned as a year 7 with Ms Kirkpatrick. Im excited to be a year 8 this year because i have been waiting for this the whole time i was at Panmure Bridge. My main goal is to get a good report for this year,
